FAQs

Still curious about camp life?

If you’ve got questions, we’ve probably heard them before. If not, ask away. But here’s everything you probably want to know (and a few things you didn’t know you needed to know) before you grab your ticket and pack your bags.

  • Field Trip Summer Camp is a nostalgic, high-energy weekend for grown-ups who want fun without the stress of planning. Think camp olympics, school disco (with an actually good DJ), talent quests, paint & sip, morning yoga, games at golden hour, chill-out zones, and late-night laughs under the stars. It’s your favourite parts of school camp, reimagined for adults with premium food, curated experiences, and incredible people.

  • Absolutely not. All activities are optional. Whether you want to win the camp olympics or read in the sun with a coffee is totally up to you. Your experience = your pace.

  • Because memorable weekends don’t plan themselves, and Field Trip has done it all for you. We’ve curated a full experience that’s fun, elevated, and social by design. Whether you’re new in town, rallying old friends, or just craving a break from the usual, Field Trip makes it easy to say yes to something different.

  • Whatever you feel comfortable in. You’ll probably want activewear for some activities, and something easy for lazing in the sun, group dinners, or DJ sets. We’ll share the disco themes in advance if you want to pack accordingly.

  • Designed for the 30+ crowd (though as long as you’re over 18 you are more than welcome to join) who love a weekend away with a bit of structure, a lot of freedom, and a great crowd. Our guests are social, curious, nostalgic, and appreciate the little details. You’ll fit right in whether you come solo, as a duo, or as a crew.

  • Absolutely. While drinks are available to purchase, most people come for the activities, the vibe, and the connection. There’s no pressure to drink, and we’ll have non-alcoholic options available throughout the weekend.

    • 3 days / 2 nights of curated camp magic
    • Shared accommodation in styled dorms
    • Elevated menus: All prepared by our onsite chefs from the fabulous Little Wolf – hot breakfasts, poke bowl lunch stations, dinners, late-night bites, and surprise treats
    • All activities and workshops: yoga and HIIT workouts, games, school disco (with an actually good DJ), paint & sip, and more
    • Immersive event styling
    • Pop-up coffee cart (we know you’ll need real coffee in the mornings)
    • Payment plans available via ZIP to make things easy

Note: Alcoholic drinks are available for purchase at camp-friendly prices (think bowls club, not inner-city bar). Transport is available from the city but not included in the ticket price – details at checkout.

  • Maybe, maybe not, but that’s the beauty of it. Field Trip brings together warm, open people from across Aotearoa. Whether you’re new in town, a bit unsure, or totally in your element, you’ll find your people.

  • Look, we’re going to level with you, it’s still camp, so you’ll be sleeping in traditional bunk style camp dorms. BUT It’s rustic with a Field Trip glow up. Expect high-thread-count sheets, Field Trip blankets, luxe lighting, and thoughtful touches. You’ll be comfy, cosy, bunking with like-minded people and way too busy having fun to care you’re not at a hotel.

The bathrooms? Recently renovated, with proper hot showers and flushing toilets. We’re also bringing in additional luxury shower and bathroom trucks.

  • We get it – the economy. When you consider what’s included: accommodation, chef-cooked meals, curated experiences, premium styling, and a full weekend of entertainment, Field Trip offers serious value. You can spend more on a hotel with no inclusions and half the magic. We also have payment plans available via ZIP.

  • Yes and yes. Solo guests are matched with a dorm crew who are also flying solo, and we have intentional moments designed to help you settle in easily. Coming with mates or as a couple? You’ll be grouped together. Just name your group something unique when booking (e.g. ShereeGROUP154) so your friends can book under the same name. Most dorms sleep 4 or 6 people, with two rooms available for groups of 8.

  • Camp is a logistical puzzle with a lot of upfront costs. Unfortunately, this means tickets are non-refundable. We recommend purchasing ticket insurance at checkout. If you can’t attend, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else up to 14 days before camp. Just email us to coordinate.

  • Camp goes ahead rain or shine. We’ve got covered spaces, contingency plans, and activities to suit all weather. Bring a rain jacket and lean in – some of the best memories are made in gumboots.

  • Yes! A professional photographer and videographer will be on-site capturing the weekend. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to be photographed and filmed. If you’re camera shy, let a staff member know and we’ll make sure you’re not the focus.

  • Between 100–140 guests, plus 10 camp counsellors and onsite security. Big enough for a buzz, small enough that you’ll know familiar faces by day two.

  • By purchasing a ticket, you agree to our full Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Code of Conduct.
